16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
Nov 25, 2017 - Dec 10, 2017 @ Online
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence begin on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25 and end on International Human Rights Day on December 10. They also include the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on December 6. The 16 Days of Activism is a time to both reflect on violence against women and to take action to end it. This year’s theme, #MYActionsMatter, is a call to action that asks everyone to take concrete steps to question, call out, and speak up against acts of gender-based violence (GBV). Recently, public attention has shone a light on what statistics have long confirmed: women in Canada and around the world continue to face disproportionate levels of violence each and every day. In response to this all-too-familiar reality #MYActionsMatter asks the question: what will you do?
